This was the very first vehicle that we were involved with at BDG, and what a way to dive in. Go big, or go home as they say. This vehicle was a collaboration between GM design Group, Metalcrafters, Alcoa Aluminum, and the crew at Big Dog. This car had made the show circuit throughout the U.S. and Canada in its early days but the windows were blacked out so that you couldn't see inside. BDG had not yet decided what to do with the interior so when we were called in by Bernard of Big Dog, he explained to us that it was going to be a rush rush job due to the fact that the car was going to be featured in the Consumer Electronic Show in Vegas within just a couple of weeks. "A couple of weeks?" What is it with everyone and this couple of weeks thing? Anyways, as you can see in the early pics there was really nothing much to work with. We were told that all of the materials that were to be used had to be made from recycled materials or be a material that could be recycled. We ended up using Alcantara Suede throughout the interior. It was used on the doors, the dash, the headliner, the seats and trim panels and the center console. We worked closely with the design team at GM Design as well as the guys at Microsoft who had completely wired the instrument panels and iPod bays that were fabricated into the entry sills of the doors. We performed to the high level that had been expected of us and subsequently landed us  the full time gig with Big Dog Garage, and the rest is history.
